Born Glastonbury, England, 1956, brought up in London,
studied fine art at Goldsmiths' College, with a special
interest in performance art and installations.
Moved to Ireland and then
to southern Europe working for many years with a small
circus and as a puppeteer. Since 1986 he has lived and
worked in a steep valley at the base of the mountain of
Montserrat near Barcelona sharing his life and workspace
with his wife performance artist Empar Rossello
In 2002 he was awarded the Sabastia Guasch prize (FAD,
Barcelona) for his contribution to the opera Lucrecia Borja
by Carlos Santos for the inauguration of the Teatre Lluire
in Barcelona.
In the summer of 2002 he exhibited his automata in the Caixa
Forum Museum as part of the 20th anniversary of the art
gallery Sala Montcada .The same summer he was invited to
exhibit his automata for the inauguration of the surrealism
exhibition in the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen Museum
in Dusseldorf.
Together with Empar Rossello, who’s uncompromising
questioning has profoundly influenced the course of
performance art in Barcelona, he has, over the last 20 years
helped create a multitude of performances, performing in the
festival Grec 2003, the Festival de Sitges And the Festival
Olimpiada Cultural.
He has performed with marionettes and automata in the
Limburg festival, Holland, the Accert festival Portugal, the
Gent Festival, Belgium and many other European festivals and
has received invitations to perform in Estonia, Pakistan,
USA and Canada.

In 2002 facing increasing demand for his work he put aside
performance and puppetry to dedicate more time to sculpture.
